…is not yet true enlightenment. Knowledge is the broadening of man’s intellectual endowment. True enlightenment, however, embraces in itself development of high moral and spiritual principles over and above knowledge. To acquire knowledge is not very difficult; to attain a high moral development, however is the highest aim of man and many people who are deprived of scientific knowledge by the circumstances of life but are deeply permeated by moral light are nearer to complete enlightenment than many who have knowledge but lack the power of spiritual life.
